The dealer gets a kickback on any loan they push to a lender. It's likely they had to make sure the loan was originated by them not by Capital One. 

It was made easier by your large down payment.

I'm curious how you qualified for a ch 7 with that much income? We are just slightly lower than that, with 4 kids, and being told our only option is ch 13. I would love to so ch 7 if possible.

There are different factors, do you have any property or assets? Also the means test differs from state to state. In Oregon my husband and I make 60k a year together and we easily qualify for chapter 7 since that's the median income in Oregon. If you make over the median income, if you show your debts can outweight that then you can also qualify. It wouldn't hurt you to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion from other attorneys.
