I have a question that my attorneys paralegal answered but I'm seeing conflicting information. I'm in Ohio.
Credit card company sued and won by default (No bad comments about that please. I know better now.) in October, 1999 and a lien was placed on our home. We filed for BK 7 in Jan 2000 and our debt was discharged in April 2000, including this creditor who won by default.
Does BK 7 satisfy the lien or is it still collectible? This lien is still showing as "open" in public records but our attorney is filing a Notice of Satisfaction through the court and sending copies to the attorney that represents the creditor. Is that right?
How long do the CRA's report tax liens?
Any info on this would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
