Approved just now for BofA Cash Rewards with $1K CL. Exactly 3 years and one month from BK discharge. Denied at 2 years and 1 month and not offered the secured card deal at that time. Followed most of the recommendations in this thread and a few others. You can read my entire bankruptcy story posted last year in a previous post in the BK forum.
CapOne Venture $10,000 | CapOne QS $3,000 | CapOne Spark $4,000 | Discover IT $3,500 | Barclays NFL $4,000 | Barclays Rewards $3,000 | About 5 Store Cards | Total CL $38,000
EQ FICO 688 | TU FICO 709 | EX FICO 713
Never a late payment, always pay balances in full after statement posts. Usually under 5% utilization, never over 9%. Credit Builder loan secured by CD from local CU for 1 year and $1,000 in first year of BK. No secured cards at any point.
Thanks for the data point. Did you IIB any BOA cards?
I was reading in the forum about BofA offering a starter secured card putting down $99 for a $500 CL, has anyone achieved this right out of a BK discharge?
Ive never had a CC from BofA so I'm curious if they would be lenient towards me.
No BofA cards IIB for me. One Chase, one Amex, and one old MBNA if I recall correctly.
I got my first post-ch7-discharge revolving account from Credit One five months ago, $700 limit which I've kept at 10% util or lower.
Just got instantly approved for $2500 Discover It. 9 months post discharge. Woohoo! Will be gardening for a few months now.

You can add the Schwab Amex to the list, I was instant approved for $15k. Last one for me to conquer will be Chase and I'm done.
yes, but NF, youre an exception. Your rebuild was done correctly, and your reports look great plus youve got good cards, not sub prime. Youve done VERY well. You are not the typical BK'er here looking to rebuild. Not everyone 4 yrs post BK can go and get this card. But, thank you for adding it to the list....But, Id also comment that youre the exception....
