Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

I must say that I read these forums everyday and at night when I get off work. The information here has given me so knowledge and hope for life after bankruptcy. Here is my story:

Filed CH 13 on 3/5/15 and converted to CH 7 on 08/16. 341 meeting was 11/16. I had to file due to cut hours at my state job for a year which put me in a major bind. I had many medical bills from several surgeries, student loans over 100K, and burned Barclay, Credit One, Capital one(small amounts), Walmart, VS, Buckle, Express, and Gap. But in 2011 I had a Captial One card that I paid well on but closed after I paid it off....don't ask me why.

My scores on 11/16 were EX 489, TU 509, EQ 520. So I applied for the Discover Secured IT card and approved. Just put $200 on it to get an idea of the card. Then Caap1 QS gave me $500. Scores are now according to myFICO: EQ: 609, TU:532 EX: 494 but on creditkarma my scores are TU: 686 and EQ: 657. Credit wise has me TU: 686. My bankrate has the same scores as Credit karma and after applying for a checking account with Discover it has my score at 621. Overall utilization is at 7%.

So, my question is what is my next step and which scores do I believe?

Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

I was discharged today.  I was approved for a Capital One Platinum ($2000).  I had received several mail offers from them.  I was also approved for a Discover It card ($2400).

Applied for Discover It and also Barclaycard Aviator Red World Mastercard Elite today.

With Discover got the "we need more information please call" screen. Called the number provided and had to verify identity and answer a few questions, was approved for $6500.

With Barclay Aviator Red, auto declined with 7-10 day message, called for recon, was approved for $4000. I also have 2 other cards with them too.

Re: Bankruptcy Friendly Credit Cards Pt.2

You should be able to land the Chase card. Also, I find that Barclays is kind of a stickler when it comes to their cards. I have 3 currently with them but they're not so great about giving CLIs without a hard pull. So I'm going to close one of them. Also, which BoA card did you apply for?

Have you tried calling Barclay and asking for an APR reduction? A lot of us have received SP CLI's this way, may be worth a shot.
