I applied for the Quicksilver this morning. Approved for $1000. I thought for sure I would be declined. Also, for the heck of it I called Chase and spoke to two different people about a Bankruptcy being on my report and if I could potentially be approved. They both said "it won't necessarily disqualify you altogether as there are other factors as well. Just make sure you're rebuilding, making large payments, and keeping utilization low". I asked how much time would be needed before I apply and they said , just get your scores higher. Then apply.

Congrats! Give Chase at least 3 years

Awesome!  Congrats...I agree with Scupra...at least 2-3 years have been average...and I agree with what they told you...they told me last year that need to keep util low and show some bigger payment...that BK is important, but they really want to see how well you have rebuilt since...Scupra, maybe Discover first?

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

My husband was offered a no AF Cap1 MC about 3 months post-discharge. One of the "pre approvals" in the mail box type. We weren't looking at a CC yet at that point.

My slightly better score got me... bupkiss. I ended up with a CreditOne card to help me start rebuilding (AU only goes so far).

Mmm, we will have to see if I can forgive Discover. I'm content right now and just sitting in the garden watching my limits grow Smiley Happy

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

Very true...I want a Discover because the family is members at Six flags and they get GREAT discounts and rewards within the park.

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

I can't believe I am typing this right now.  LOL  I took the plunge and app'd for Discover It card and got APPROVED for $800 and then said well....I feel lucky this morning, and app'd for Chase Freedom, got the auto denial *I figured because the BK is showing* so I called in to recon and got an awesome Analyst.  He took some notes and put me on hold and said he send my app on to "final approval I am assuming" *for apps like ours* but he felt confident/good/comfortable in having me into the family **paraphrasing** he said that could take up to 48 hours, so he would try and call me tomorrow am either way to let me know.  So hoping for that!  Sounds like he is basically recomending me to get approved, just has to have a higher person to do it?

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

I applied to both post 1 year discharged. Denied both. Today, post 2 years approved for Discover and pending for Chase.
