Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

I can't believe I am typing this right now.  LOL  I took the plunge and app'd for Discover It card and got APPROVED for $800 and then said well....I feel lucky this morning, and app'd for Chase Freedom, got the auto denial *I figured because the BK is showing* so I called in to recon and got an awesome Analyst.  He took some notes and put me on hold and said he send my app on to "final approval I am assuming" *for apps like ours* but he felt confident/good/comfortable in having me into the family **paraphrasing** he said that could take up to 48 hours, so he would try and call me tomorrow am either way to let me know.  So hoping for that!  Sounds like he is basically recomending me to get approved, just has to have a higher person to do it?

Woooooooooo! Crossing my fingers on Chase for you. Did Chase just pull EX for you?

Thanks buddy!!  Nope, to my shock, they pulled EQ he said.  No alerts yet on them.  I am surprised they did that, but thankful no double or triple pull.  LOL  The Analyst was VERY nice.  I have no doubt you can get approved with them.  and Discover if you wanted to.

What did you answer when the application asked if your credit report is clear of bankruptcy?

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

I said NO...It does have a BK on there.  They asked in Recon, and I was honest.  He came back and said he could see that I have been rebuilding very well, and that he would put this through and he felt comfortable doing that and "recommending" it to be approved.  He said it could take up to 48 hours to find out tho.  This is CHASE**  Discover countered with the "lower" offer but instant approval. I thought I was going to have to recon with that, but nope!

Awesome! I thought I remembered reading somewhere that saying "no" forwards the app and doesn't pull credit. Obviously that isn't true haha Make sure to keep me posted, I'm rooting for you!

Hi, I have a brother who was in the marine reserves 25 years ago, Could I still aplly for an NFCU card and be approved?

You would have to see if he is still eligible to join and then he'd have to become a member first and bring you over.  Call the 800 number to be sure that is correct procedure.

Re: Bankruptcy friendly credit cards

Will do!  Thank, you!  He was impressed with my re-build so *again paraphrasing* he felt comfortable/good with my app and recomended it for approval.  I guess just has to get the final one.  He couldn't give me like a percentage, but I know if that the Analyst didn't want/think it was good for the company he would have told me NO right then and there.  It could still come back as a NO, but I am slightly optimistic.  Normal for "our" types of apps right now?

Are you sure brother would have to join first? I thought you just had to prove the relationship?
