I don't know why its different for some people. My BK7 was discharged in Nov.2014 and I app'd for the secured Cap1 in Dec was approved for $200 with a $49 deposit. In Feb. I app'd for the Quicksilver 1 and was approved for $500 and I burned them in the BK. Now I app'd for a store card from GE/Syncrony and was denied should have expected that one, I burned 3 GE accounts. At this point I'm not even thinking ablot a store card I'm just going to keep these two and app for a Barclays toward the end of the year and I'm going to close the secured Cap1 before the annual fee comes around in Dec.
Christoph8 - I also IIB 4 GE/Synchrony cards and was denied when I applied 3 months after my bk dc, but I reapplied after 6 months and was approved for WM, then approved for Amazon and Lowe's You may just need to give it more time.
Yeah I'm going to wait a little longer, I'm trying to be patient lol. Just wanting to get on with this rebuilding and put all my mistakes behind me.

I burned Old Navy and Gap in my bk... at three months was denied Amazon, denied Walmart at 5 months then approved for Amazon at six months, but still denied for Walmart.
I burned hh gregg, Bass Pro and JC Penny so I'm definitely staying from those.
I think there needs to be a chase freedom app scupra
True but your scores were better than mine. They will really like that you have low CCD Util and have heavy rebuilding.
So, I thought I would share this. I see alot of people posting what they did to come out of their bk- I thought I would share my story. In July 2014 I filed a ch 7 bk. Included were many medical bills and two capital one credit cards. Immediately after filing the ch 7 I started disputing the files- stating they were satisfied (Due to being included in bk)- All but the two credit cards were removed from my credit reports (all three). That took quite a few months of work. My score rebounded from around 500 to 580 due to this. Now, I was able to get a Kohl's card of 300 two weeks after bk discharge date. It has now been raised to 700.00 I opened several accounts through comenity bank (VS- 250.00 which is Now 450.00), Torrid 250.00 (now 450.00), Maurices 250.00 (now 450.00) Lane Bryant 150.00 (They never increased this card so I have since closed it) and a Marathon Visa 300.00 (now 950.00) - I wasn't able to get a Walmart, or any other SyncB bank until Jan ish this year (2015). I now have a 700.00 walmart and a 700.00 Amazon. I also was able to get a car loan at 6.9 through ALLY bank in Feb 2015. My credit union just approved me a refinancing of this car loan and it will be at 4.9! I also got approved for a 2500.00 unsecured card. This is ALL less than one year post BK. It CAN be done. Just be on time with your payments. Keep your utilization under 30 percent on any cards you get. My score with TU is now 640 ish.. EXP the same.. My equifax is only 609 only because there is still a judgement showing that was deleted off of the other two. My goal is a new home next summer. Wish me luck!
