My husband filed bankruptcy in the UK in 2010 while he was still single and living there. Since then he has moved here and we've gotten married. Does he need to disclose that on a mortgage or any other credit application?

Making a false statement on an application for credit can be a serious matter, if they ask "have you ever..." he probably must answer honestly.

That's kind of what I was thinking, really. We were trying to decide whether to just do the mortgage in my name or to add his. I have a decent FICO score and have no negatives. More or less I'm cocerned about debt to income ratio. So we thought adding his income in might be a good idea, but if I can go it alone on the mortgage that might be the better option.

myFICO is the consumer division of FICO. Since its introduction 20 years ago, the FICO® Score has become a global standard for measuring credit risk in the banking, mortgage, credit card, auto and retail industries. 90 of the top 100 largest U.S. financial institutions use the FICO Score to make consumer credit decisions.
