I received a Cap ONe cash rewards card with a 2000 limit. Our Ch 13 was discharged April 9! I was very surprised.
Lilrosy4, how soon after your discharge did you app for the card? I'm planning on app'ing for the same card when I receive my discharge--I'm just curious about the time frame. Was this the first tradeline you had (or app'd for) after discharge?

I was approved today for both Discover More and Barclays Apple card. I have a 2 year BK7. I also have a capital one card which I have had for about 13 months.

I filed my BK in 05/2012.
Since that I have covered all bills 100% on time and in full so trying not to apply for anything before 04/13 to see where score lands
Current Score TU 605 EQ 611 EX 599

Best Buy is definately YMMV. I was brave enough to app with them just because Cap1 backs their card and i have 2 Cap1 one cards approved and in great standing. I was wrong, Denied across the board for anything of theirs.

I was wondering about department store cards. Can anyone tell me what department store cards they were able to obtain after bk discharge and what your credit score was at the time of obtaining these cards? I would like to have one or two of these cards but I'm afraid to apply since my score is coming up but only very slowly.

I just spoke to GEMB and they explained that they do not look at applications that have a BK for at least 24 months post BK. He said that the system does an automatic decline. So tough to know what to apply for!

Did you apply for both at the same time?

i got approved for my second capital one card 3 weeks ago and the prequalifier despite the fact that i have an auto loan with them and another credit card didnt pull anything for me either. So I just applied for the Classic Platinum and it APPROVED!!! Good luck
