Can a judgment in one state be domesticated in another state?

Hello:

I might have a mortgage deficiency judgment in one state where the property is. I now have moved into another state.

If the judgment does happen, can it move to the new state where I reside and will I be bound by the collection/exempt laws in the new state?

Thanks.

Re: Can a judgment in one state be domesticated in another state?

Yep, it gets done basically under the "full faith and credit" clause of the US Constitution which compels states to comply with ano states judgment. The papers to do so must be properly filed to do it, they cant just come in and seize in another state without going thru the legal process of domestication.

Adding: The size of the judgment would also play into whether or not they would spend the extra money to go thru the process.
