Cap1 couldn't match my records to a card offer?

I just did the "See if your preapproved" on the Cap1 website and the message at the top said, "We couldn't match your records to a card offer".

What does this even mean?  Am I totally screwed?

No, it just means they don't already have a preapproval for you.  It can be as simple as you have "opted out" so they have not been able to get your profile in order to preapprove you.

Of course it doesn't mean you're home free either.  Do you know which CRA they pull in your state?

Um... I don't know I've ever opted out with them so who knows?

And I "think" the bureau for Arizona is Experian, isn't it? I know it's not Transunion, but one of the two "E" bureaus.

Re: Cap1 couldn't match my records to a card offer?

Cap1 pulls all 3.  ....as for their preapproval check, I believe they pull TU, but I don't live in Arizona so it could be different for you.   As well, the info you put in (address, name, etc..) has to be exact to what shows on your CR report.

I think it was the my not having gotten any offer in the mail.  I applied and was approved for $1,000.  Waiting for the card to get here in the mail.

I got the same message when I tried their pre approval page and I am OPTED in.  I applied anyway - and now I have their Quick Silver card with 3k limit.....
