Does Capital One ever consider taking away the annual fee anyone know?
Seen many stories that say yes. I don't have any personal experience although I plan on trying later in the year! I'm sure someone that has successfully done it will chime in.

I contacted the EO at one year and was able to get it permanently removed.

I believe if your CL is over $3,000 they will permanently remove annual fee. Chatted with a rep asking why I wasn't charged an annual fee one day and was given that answer. YMMV
So I decided today to take the plunge and try for CapOne. After hitting the apply button I have never been so nervous waiting for a response. I just was approved for $3000 for the Classic Platnium. So I did what everyone suggested and went for the Quicksilver and again another $3000 limit. I am glad I finally listened to advice and went for it even though I was never prequalified on their site. Just a question. I have a preapproval for a Merrick card with no fees.. Should I apply for that also or just ignore that. Right now I have Credit one (which will be closed before one year mark) and will be getting the 2 cap one cards. I also have a credit builder loan with my cu.

Congrats on the new Cap1 cards Orioles! Personally, I would pass on Merrick and hit up Barclay in 6-12 monthsTt
Thanks. I'll do that.
I'm glad that you were approved. It seems that I should have filed bankruptcy. I went through a divorce in 2009 lost my house to foreclosure and had a car repossessed that was in my name that my ex did not pay for. Add to that a couple of medical bills here and there and I've been trying to rebuild my credit since 2010. Capital One will only give me a lousy $750 card and for 2 years has refused cli. I tried to do things the right way and pay things off my credit however it seems that I should have just filed bankruptcy because those that have done soare much further along their credit rebuilding process then it seems I will ever be. sigh
I just got approved for another $10k QuickSilver Signature Visa.
They treat me like a king and I will stay loyal to them for a long time regardless of my credit score.
I dont pay interest and I get $75-$100 per month in cash back. What more can you ask for 16 months out of BK?
5 cards @ 30k total
PS - Merrick Bank has been fine for me too. 900 became 1800 in 6 months. No issues, No Fees.
