Just to add...I've been using the CRAP out of my Cap One Quick Silver (Platinum not so much but used monthly). I got them in Nov...but been using the quicksilver so much I get it almost maxed at times. I pay every week, sometimes multiple times to try to keep balance around $2-3.
Anyways, I know it was getting close to the 6 month supposedly auto increase...so I figured I'd just "Request a CLI" via their website since I was 5 months in and using it heavily. I have probably put $15k through it since Nov and paying it off to $2 or $0 every 1-2 weeks.
I was scared at 1st because they said most of they time when you request for CLI it's approved immediately...but mine was not ....so I was thinking I as going to get a sad letter in the mail. I submitted it Sunday night...and just logged in and noticed I received a CLI on both my cards. One from 1k to 2k (Platinum, used monthly but nothing big)...and quicksilver went from 3k to 9k!!! that's the one I'm excited about...giving me some breathing room.!!!!
I wanted to post this to help people see how friendly they are....also...this is almost immediately after a LARGE drop in my scores....Freakin Navient came back at me after I thought Sallie mae balances were Zero and I didnt know who/what Navient was. Anyways all my student loans came back as late and dropped my scores 150pts!!! That got me depressed, I called and got back on track with Navient and paying now...it's back up 50 pts to 595...but from 690 ---> 540...now 595...it was 595 when I pulled the trigger with Cap one for the CLI and now I"m feeling better.
Also, My Wife's accounts (same type cards, lower CL) are better and her scores are almost 700 again since she had no student loans hit lol. I just ran hers platinum went from 500-1500 and quicksilver from 1k -3k...using the "CLI request" Online...but Her's "IMMEDIATELY" gave increase on both...just now. No time waiting like me.
Good Luck All!!!
Awesome!! Congrats!!
dang it!!! LOL Cap 1 wants me to have more of there excellent cards....
LOL...you and I are still in the same boat. Cap One doesn't like us for some reason.
@Anonymous wrote:I'm just wondering how many people get prequalified and how many people just take the chance and app. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger but I have never been prequalified.
Just within the past month, I was pre qualified for the qs signature card I applied and approved for 3,000. Just recently checked again the pre qualifier and it said I wasnt but recommended me for the venture card, I was a bit hesitant in applying, but i said what the hell and was approved for 10,000.!

@Anonymous wrote:Bankrupty discharged 2/28/2015.... Applied for Capital one Platnium approved $300 CL just applied for QS crossing my fingers that I get that also.. I have read on this forum that once you get approved for one you will be approved for the second one. Im trying to re-establish my credit I hope Im on the right track. Im wondering if I should apply for Barkclays now or if I should just wait? HELP!!!!
Wait at least 6 months for Barclay. I tried at 3 and was declined, I reconed talked to a very friendly credit anylist and she said they like to see at least 6 months history with another card.
I was approved 3 months after bk, but barclays refuses to increase my limit yet, even know I have a venture 10000 limit.
@Webmasterlc - Congrats on the $10k Venture card. I also got the Venture One with a $10k limit just a month ago! Like you, I have a Barclay's card and have had it now for over 18 months with perfect payment history and I put through about $700 - $900 a month on my $1300 limit, paying a couple times a month to keep from ever going over 30% and I have YET to receive a CLI! I am really tired of waiting and beginning to believe it will never happen.
When I first started my BK recovery, I was led to believe that Barclay's would be the card that would grow with me and Cap One would just stay with low limits but the exact opposite has been the case. I have 3 cards with Cap One, the first 2 were opened within a week of my chapter 7 discharge in Aug of 2013 and had starting limits of $300 and $500, now both of those cards have CL's over $5000 each and I just got a Venture One card with a $10k limit. At the same time I opened the 2 Cap One cards, I opened my Barclay's account and had a $1300 starting limit........here we are almost 2 years later and the Barclay's card is STILL $1300, while Cap One has given me over $20k in CL's! Go figure!
Thanks Scrupa! I will try that. At this point, I am ready to try just about anything,.......lol
