EQ maintains dismissed Chapter 13s for 10 years from filing date.

Correct. ^
If you complete your plan it's 7 years (can't wait for 2016)... Dismissed is 10.
Filed 4/2009, discharged 7/2014. So its off the CRs in 2016... Very refreshing to finally read this on these forums as I was getting mixed answers elsewhere.

Same filing date as me although I paid off and got discharged last year and the rebuild is going well.
Have you checked your reports and pulled your FICO scores?
Nope, not yet... I was planning on doing that as the first step but I feel like I need to wait to pull the reports. I have a 1st and 2nd mortgage and an auto loan that was not included in the bk13. Do I need to give them time to report after the discharge or is it ok to pull the reports now and just start disputing stuff that looks wrong?
Also got my first CC offer in the mail today - a preapproval from CreditOne. I'm cringing at the $75 setup fee though and feel like I can do better as a first step back toward rebuilding. What do you think?
I'd go ahead and pull your reports now and make sure that all the accounts you IIB are marked as such. They should be 30 days post discharge.
As for the credit card... I didn't have to use any of the crap lenders like Credit One and First Premier. I went straight to CapOne and applied and was approved for a $1000 Platinum card (now $2000) the day after I got my discharge... my scores were 630's across the board. I then got a Quicksilver a couple months after that... then I converted the Plat to a QS and now I have 2... and the latter is now the lowest limit major CC in my lineup.
Try CapOne before you pull the trigger on CreditOne. If approved I'd definitely skip CreditOne.
Perfect advice... It seems that our situations are very similar. I was actually planning on heading down that route with CapOne and had my eye on the Platinum last night even... So I'll probably pull the trigger since I'm also in the low to mid 600's right now ATB. I'll start a new post so I can log my credit rebuilding journey as I have seen some others do on here. Thanks again! We'll definitely have to coroborate over the next couple of years (and celebrate in 2016, right?)
Yeah feel free to keep in touch via PM.
I've got my profile where I want it to be... other than a couple inquiries from BECU this year (car loan refi and CC CLI) all the rest of my inquiries associated with all these new accounts are a year old or close to it... My UTIL is up because I financed a couple big 0% purchases (home furnishings/appliances) that I am paying off in the next 6-8 months. I have no plans to app for anything else.
So... when 2016 gets here my 13 falls off and I'll have 0 inquiries. I should be in really good shape to get whatever I want... The only thing I might do before then is trade my car... but I know I won't be getting any more CC's between now and then.
Gardening is good...
