Just filed yesterday. I am happy to have the weight lifted off. I have one final question. I currently bank with Chase. I included their freedom card in my BK. My question is will they take my direct deposits from my employer? Should I find a different bank until my BK is discharged? My CC is just 2 days past due at this point, but I know they will get notice of my bk filing within the next few business days.
Thanks in advance.
I moved my money just in case because I included my bank as a creditor when I filed but nothing ever happened so I just moved everything back over after discharge.
Thanks for the info! On a side note, just got my checking acct setup at NFCU. I am planning on using them as a secondary checking account to start building a relationship with them. That way when my bk is discharged, it is already est.
Thanks again for the info!
I've heard wonderful things about NFCU. Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't even bother with a different credit card company. It seems like they would let you start off with a secured card and then convert to an unsecured with good use. They are also generous with their credit lines and they have so many different credit products that you can establish multiple credit accounts with them.
Good luck OP!
I would say to make NFCU your PRIMARY banking institution! They are wonderful and will be willing to give you a chance post BK. I have no complaints about them and didnt think twice about dropping Chase for them.
Yeah, I ended up moving all my money there yesterday and will be starting my direct deposit on my next paycheck. I haven't apped with them yet, but I plan on doing it either May/June or around November. I haven't decided yet. I don't need them reporting yet because I managed to get three TLs this last week, so I may just sit baak and let those report for 6/7 months.
