Will someone tell me when should a dismissed Chapter 13 fall off the credit report?  I filed October 2001, and it was dismissed Dec 1, 2001.  I have read many different answers.  Also, when this fall off, will my score increase?

Chapter 13 remains seven years from the filing date. Accounts included in bankruptcy will remain seven years from the date they were reported as included in the bankruptcy.

TU & Experian will report a dismissed Chapter 13 for 7 years from the date it was filed.  Equifax reports a dismissed Chapter 13 for 10 yrs from the date filed. Looking at the dates you posted, it seems as though TU & Exp should have stopped reporting.

One last thing. Although TU & Exp only report dismissed Chpt.13's for 7 years, I THINK they can legally report for them for 10 years. I think I read some where that their 7 year reporting rule is a company policy, but legally they can report it for 10yrs.  So if you decide to dispute with them, don't get too nasty. LOL.........

Im not sure how you would go about disputiing..Maybe a GW letter informing them it has been 7 yrs since you filed.

Thanks, it is only reporting on my Equifax reprt.  Also, should we see an increase once it fall off?

I would say the effects of one falling off would vary. I think it all depends on what else you have going on in your file.
