Credit Reporting question - Pre-BK lates?

Hello,

I am trying to understand my credit file better.  I remember reading somewhere that a bk will remove late history and just make it IIB which is equally as bad.  I have a few Capital One cards that are IIB *and* showing lates (on Experian).   Is this correct?   Sorry if I misunderstood.. and that lates that are pre-bk are supposed to be preserved.

Thank you for your time and information.

Re: Credit Reporting question - Pre-BK lates?

Removing payment history priory to bankruptcy filings are not a requirement, though Equifax and TransUnion remove all payment history.

As you found out - this only leaves one bureau left - Experian - who does not delete payment history prior to filing.

Experian is my lowest score because of the payment history is still reported. Hope that helps!
