I had 4 accounts discharged in my Chapter 7 from NFCU. I have been disputing with the CBRs and NFCU because they have added new numbers to my credit file and the CBRs are reporting that I had an additional 2 accounts included in the BK.
Ex. 1 mastercard and 1 visa account were correctly reporting as: 4060XXXXXXX and 5140XXXXXX. NFCU is now reporting new accounts 14060XXXXXXX and 15140XXXXXX to my reports. The same has happened on Experian but they have added 50001 number to the existing accounts.
I am concerned all of the extra accounts discharged is hurting my score.
Is that something I need to worry about?
Thanks for your advice and help.
Were those "new" accounts existing at the time you filed your bk petition? If yes, then they would have been included in your bankruptcy even if you did not list them on the schedule filed. ALL debt are included in bankruptcy whether or not they are "included" by listing in the schedule of debtors. There is nothing that you can do about it and your credit was hit for the bankruptcy already. Focus on rebuilding your credit profile now.
Hi EZ,
What NFCU or the CBR has done is duplicate 2 exisiting accounts by adding numbers before the original account numbers. I have copies of my reports from just last month and beyond and the 2 new accounts were never on my file before.
Sounds like NFCU has committed a post-discharge injunction violation. That is a very serious legal violation. Have you folks consulted your bankruptcy attorneys about this problem?
Hey Creolet, I did send letters along with copies of the disputed credit reports to NFCU's CBR Disputes Dept last week. I will wait and see what they say and if they dont correct I will consult an attorney and take them to court.
I will keep you posted as well.

Hey Creolet,
I wanted to give you an update on my dispute with NFCU over the duplicate accounts reporting on Equifax. I got confirmation today from Equifax that the 2 duplicate accounts were deleted.
The strange thing was that yesterday I received a letter from NFCU stating that the accounts were reporting accurately. I basically disputed those accounts while I was waiting to hear back from NFCU that they were not my accounts. In the past, I disputed them as "duplicates" with documentation and that didnt work so well.
So now I am a happy camper!!!! Hope this info helps you in your fight.
Good Luck,
Bobby
