Filed Chapter 7 and had 341 creditors meeting on 10/02/2015

Just out of shear curiosity, why cant people file chapter 7 on parent plus loans?? I filed Bankruptcy, obviously i cant afford to pay it, so what do people do?

I don't know what a parent plus loan is, but I can tell you that the categories that can't be discharged are typically the government, who makes the rules, or due to lobbyists for the credit industry who have bought politicians so that their loans are not dischargable.

well damn! my attorney didnt tell me anything like that, she just said i needed to pay it back. Now im a little irritated...LOL

From what I have read in the past, it is almost impossible to meet that standard to get the student loans discharged. But your attorney would be the best person to speak to about it because s/he knows your Bk district and the judges & trustees.

I know I was able to get mine deferred for a couple of months after my discharge. We are now back to paying them every month. Unfortunately, it has a few late pays showing on them, but that is the penalty for the financial issues we had. I may try to do a GW letter after a few more months to see if that can be cleaned up.
