I plan on filing Ch.13 sometime in Jan./Feb. Has anyone ever filed bankrupcty twice before. I pretty sure I won't ever have the possiblity of getting a credit card ever again and will be fine without one. My dad added me to one of his store cards and my exhusband added me to his Capital one card. Does being an AU still help build credit?
I'm sorry to hear about your impending Chapter 13 filing. Approximately 6 months or more ago FICO scoring systems were adjusted to eliminate AU account CL's inclusion in calculating utilization. Additionally, AU accounts are often not considered upon manual review of accounts appllcations or reconsiderations of account denials. At the very least a secured credit card may still be an option depending upon your total credit profile. Your Chapter 7 should be removed from your credit reports in three years and you may have more success with your future rebuild once this occurs. Whatever the circumstance discipline, time, and hardwork will help tremendously.
If you don't mind me asking, what is leading you to filing Chapter 13 seven years after filing Chapter 7? Many may benefit from hearing your experience.
FICO is using my AU accounts in calculating my utiliztion in FICO 08 on myFICO
Dang sorry to hear you have to do it twice, hope things get better for you. Happy Holidays though.
I'm not even sure how it started. I know once I was discharged in 2008 I also lost my job (the hospital I worked at filed for BK and shut down). I had got some credit cards and was doing good with my credit then things happened (jail, car repairs, needed new car, failed Mary Kay business, divorce, payday loans, car repo, judgements and as of last week a garnishment).
I'm at work now printing out the bankruptcy paperwork and will do my pre-filing counseling and will try to get everything delievered to the court house by Wed. morning. I will keep y'all updated.

Are you doing this without an attorney?
