I did exactly what you did with a local credit union in Atlanta. Gave them $1000 and it was used as a security against the loan I took. Once my 12 months were over the monwy was available for me to use. It really help my rebuilding process

That's what I'm hoping will happen, that it will raise my score more, which it should. I just don't know how much it will make a difference.
