I know you pull it after discharge. My question is simple. How long after discharge do I pull my reports? (Or do I wait at all?)

So sorry Avenger! I replied at work quickly and just looked at my post and understand it could be confusing. ASAP Smiley Happy That way you can start disputing if needed.

I don't know the answer to your question to Guyatthebeach, but the easiest Amex card to get is the one issued by Fidelity - 2% cashback if you have it deposited into your Fidelity Cash Management account. And yeah, Amex itself is not very BK forgiving.

That's actually stellar, as I have all of my accounts with Fidelity at the moment.  I assume you still need to wait at least four years after Chapter 7 discharge to even think about the Fidelity Amex?

... I thought the Delta SkyMiles one was actually supposed to be easier to get, but I'd prefer the Fidelity Rewards.

  • Amex Gold (NPSL)

  • Amex Platinum (NPSL)

5 years post discharge for AMEX seems to be the new theory. I have read Delta is an easier one as well. Good luck!

I would like to see AmEx use the five year theory. Everything I have since is American Express typically blacklists until your bankruptcy falls off. I'm in the garden and not aping for the rest of the year.

There was a ton of sucess with the 5 year mark on the other boards. Maybe worth a look!

Definitely, wasn't saying to apply now haha. You said, "I would like to see AmEx use the five year theory. Everything I have since is American Express typically blacklists until your bankruptcy falls off", so I was saying to read about it. Ya know, because it's fun to have hope that we wont need to wait 10 years Smiley Happy Apologize if you think I was telling you to app

No problem at all, Scupra. After having to buy a new car a year head of what I planned, I'm not aping for another. I truly don't need any more credit cards.

In the credit cards forum here some folks call the Fidelity Amex a "fake" Amex as it's issued by Fidelity and subject to their lending guidelines, Amex has no part in the decision. I used to have a Amex card issued by Bank of Hawaii, and I didn't consider it a "fake" - worked at Costco just fine. . If you've had your accounts at Fidelity for awhile, that would likely help. As for cards issued directly by Amex, yes I've read several times the Delta SkyMiles is the easier one to get.
