How do you deal with collection agencies?

My date for creditors to object discharge is 5-19-14. I have two collection agencies that are refusing to update my account to IIB with $0 balance. I've sent CRR letters and disputed several times with CRAs. What do I do? How were you successful with this? Thank you.

Once you receive your discharge, your send a copy to them, along with a copy of your creditor schedule/list, and REQUEST that they update your tradeline with accurate reporting else you will have your attorney sue them for post discharge injunction violations.

Re: How do you deal with collection agencies?

Legally - creditors are not required to update your account until you either receive a discharge or dismissal.  Honda Finance was one that was like that for me.  I disputed with my credit schedule and notice of filing and they ignored it.  Two days after my discharge it was updated.

I would wait until after you receive your discharge to get them corrected.

One other option is to report to Better Busines Bureau in the future.
