I would go with the cashrewards card. I would care about the limit or the APR, you just want to get in. I would take the secured card if the ofer it as a counter offer and as a last resort.

How you do this online i have my email welcome but when i came to the nfcu select eligibility i choose civilia what do i have to choose on the affiliation and i guess employment status is outside the goverment

I just tried to do my app online and called because there is no where to put the NL info and was told I had to do a paper app and fax it.... Has this happened to anyone else. The membership dept is closed today but the account services dept is open. Any Suggestions?

Bunnimom,

You will have print and fax the membership app in along with the welcome to NLUS email and copies of your ID's.

I'm seeing posts where people apply online and then are stuck in a holding pattern because they have to do email or fax the support documents in where membership services and the verification dept.

The easiest and most effective ways to join are via fax/email or in branch.

Heading to the local branch in the am.... I have everything on the check list. Just checked my fico score, it's 632. I hope its will be ok fingers crossed... I'll keep you informed. Thanks for all the help.
