I got approved for a Walmart card SL was $1100, did the chat and asked them for CLI because needed home decorations, etc since closing escrow. Bumped me up to $3500. I have a $0 balance and only received the card the night before

Like I said, they either love you or hate you. There is no figuring them out and their pattern for approvals/denials. My profile was just as good as yours and you were approved for a CLI... I was denied. I have a Ch 13 and my card started at $600 and I never got a CLI despite multiple call in requests over a year that I had the account open. They did give me a garbage $100 and then $200 auto CLI shortly before I closed the account.
At the time I had well over $40k in major bank cards and I decided to just close the account. Toy limit store cards were great when I first started rebuilding but now that I have a solid profile they are no longer useful.
I don't shop at Walmart... but I do shop at Sam's... and have the Sam's MC. For whatever reason Sam's is 1000 times a better shopping experience than Walmart... so closing the Walmart account was definitely the thing to do for me. Had I kept it open it would be by far my lowest limit CC. Good riddance.

I feel your pain TRC. I had better luck with GE than Synchrony. I have several store cards with nice limits and I take advantage of their no interest offers. I had a Sam's store card from 2000 to 2010 which had a zero balance going into BK. Like you no lates (except for mortgage) right up to filing. I've tired twice in the past year for a Sam's store card (not MC) and I 'm still denied with BK as the number one reason. I don't get it either how these approval/denials work. Same for Comenity. They've given me generous CLI with their store cards but won't budge with a BJ Perks or Marathon MC.
