Is there a cap on a FICO score with BK reporting? What is the highest I can expect my score to get to after filing in 2006? Thank you

I have heard of those getting 720 or so with BK reporting on their credit report.

Huh.... That sucks. When my utilization was at 5% a couple of months ago my TU score was 718 and my EQ was 704. So if around 720 is the cap then I don't have much to look forward to.

My husband's FICOs (that we paid for on myfico.com) were 722 (TU) and 716 (EQ) last month. Our BK was discharged 12/07.

From what I have learned, Fico scoring also places people in different scoring buckets/groups, these buckets use different scoring formulas and they vary by group. Unfortunately those of us who are in the BK bucket have a maximum of where we can reach with our scores. A BK has a huge impact on our credit scores. If we are using tools from myfico like the score estrimators and focus on the "reasons for XXX Fico" message we receive, it is a little bit misleading because they are programmed as though we do not have a BK. Lets look on the bright side, wtih diligent work we can strive to get the best scores that are available to us in the BK bucket. Once the BK drops of our credit we will then be placed in a bucket of those who don't have BKs and we can see huge jumps on our credit scores.

My TU score was about 730 in May. I haven't checked it in a while ( I got it after I was approved for my Barclay card) so I'm not sure where I am now. My BK was discharged in 2008
There are reports of people in the high 700s with a BK reporting. Just keep keeping on.

My TU is 723.
BK discharged 3 years almost to the day.

TU just pulled on MyFICO is 728, about the only thing I could improve would be to take inquires to zero and improve AAOA.
Mt BK is also coming up on three years from discharge.

I think the highest I've read was either 740 or 760. I've also read anything over 760 is gravy,,,![]()
