myFICO EQ 1/2014: 617
myFICO TU 1/2014: 619
myFICO EX 1/2014: 635
Credit 1 - $500 / Cap 1 Sec. $200 / Cap 1 Quicksilver $1,000
Barclays Apple Card / $1700 / American Gen Loan $5,000
Awesome! You are def making good progress and you're only 7 months post d/c. I would make sure to check out the Barclays thread so you can make sure you get a CLI. Congrats again, thank you for sharing!
Scupra - its time for you to hit the LUV button with NFCU
also, great job to the OP on rebuilding. You've got two solid lines with Cap 1 and Barclays. Traet that Barclays well and get some CLI's under your belt. I assume you're going to cancel and close the Credit 1 right before the charge you for the annual fees? What is the plan for the third credit card to allow for cancelling the Cap 1 secured?
I just got a counter offer 2 months ago! My cashRewards turns a year old next month so maybe I will see some auto luv in March, if not maybe I will ask
Note to self - pester Scupra next month about NFCU LUV....
Wait, wait, WAIT! Your sig shows $18k?! I thought you got to $10k??? Now I'm envious lol
@OMIAHEART wrote:I was discharged from BK7 at the end of May 2013 and my credit rebuilding seems to be going really well! Now what do i do???
I would garden the cards you have for at least 6 months. At that time, I would consider emailing the EO for Cap One and asking for CLI (aim high, will be sp). Then, I would ask Barclays for an increase (will be hp) unless they auto CLI you. Then, I would consider adding Discover and a GE backed card like Walmart or Amazon (you can get sp CLIs on most GE cards every 4 months and they are usually generous). You will need to wait a little while for a Chase card and Amex won't give you a card until your BK is 8 years old. If you use a credit union, you can try your local credit union at some point too.

yes, went up to $18k.
I updated the thread in Credit Cards....
They were Also willing to roll the card over into the Flagship rewards with no additional pull. I didn't this time cause I want to eventually app for that.
Major congrats to you! I must have missed it in that thread. I PC'd to Flagship after they unsecured my nRewards card, no HP and same account. Love NFCU

Thanks! It's certainly a cool feeling, but at the same time it doesn't do that much for me given I'll still keep the same balances on the account. If anything, perhaps it'll just a look a little better when app'ing in the future to others?? Outside of trying to auto refi later this month/next - I've gotta keep it cool or risk Barclay's potential wrath.

First 5 digit limit should open up the door to higher limits with other apps.
As long as you have at least a 620, you should be able to get an auto loan. I work for a car dealership and see it everyday. Shoot, our finance director is so good I've seen her get them approved with MUCH lower, but below 620 is considered special finance and will give you a higher rate.
I just received the card today. Should i reqeust a credit line increase or just leave it alone?

I would not. Use it and keep util low and wait for auto CLI at 6 months
