Keep cards through Chapter 7?

My credit took a pretty rough hit about a year ago and I racked up about $25k in revolving debt. I'm getting ready to file for Chapter 7 BK (that is what the attorney I consulted with said I qualify for) and I want to come out of this with a strong new rebuild. In the past few months I have opened a secured card and a Fingerhut account. If both are at a zero balance when I file, will I be able to keep these accounts open and benefit from their positive history? Sorry if this is an obvious question, I forgot to ask during the consultation.

BK7 DC 1/2/18 • Progress as of 5/10/22:

TCL: $89,350 • If it ain't got rewards, I don't want it Smiley Wink

This is a question for your attorney. Apparently some will allow it, and some won't.

If he won't allow it, close them yourself before you file to keep them as positive accounts with payment history
