Upper 600s right out of discharge eh?

No offense but I don't buy it. Ch 7 or 13 public record will tank your score regardless of your payment history... And EQ and TU delete your payment history anyway.

Re: Keeping Payments Current Up Until BK Filing

685 EQ 5 months out of Ch 7?

No I don't believe it. I've never seen anyone with scores that high that soon and I frequent these forums daily.

Maybe some of the Ch 7 filers out there can chime in so you can tell them everything they've been doing wrong...  Maybe even rewrite the "Ch 7 to 700 in 24 months" guide that is very popular here.  I mean... Why not?

Re: Keeping Payments Current Up Until BK Filing

OP got busted so he goes back and edits all his posts.

That's too bad... We were looking forward to his Ch 7 to 685 in 5 months story too.

Re: Keeping Payments Current Up Until BK Filing

Well. I got 679 EX six months post discharge. This was from my local CU who I just refinanced two vehicles at 2.69%.

Want me to scan my discharge paper and my new loan docs (that show my score) since you seem to think it is not possible???

Re: Keeping Payments Current Up Until BK Filing

Nope. Anything is possible... The sun does shine on a dog's ass every now and then.

My point was it's not the norm because if it was that easy everyone would do it and there wouldn't be a BK7 to 700 in 24 months thread for you Ch 7ers.

I'm sure there is more to the story. Maybe I should have been more specific... If it were that easy to "keep current on all your bills right up to the day you file despite your attorney telling you to stop paying your creditors and when you are discharged you'll be 685 in 5 months like I was" according to the OP everyone would do it.

BTW, was that 679 or 659?

I know... Probably a typo.  What's your EQ?  I don't doubt your story... I do doubt it's as easy as OP claimed.

Re: Keeping Payments Current Up Until BK Filing

No, 679 is right, not 659.

My EQ is 672 and TU is 675. They did a no cost credit review and gave me all three scores.

My loan officer said my credit rebuild was the best she had ever seen so recent from a BK discharge and was surprised by the scores. So much that I got a 5,000 CL Visa from her too.

I stopped paying my bills right up til when we retained our attorney.

I understand that it's not the norm, but it is certainly possible to get a score higher pretty quickly. It all depends on your individual credit profile before and after filing.
