Hi all,
I've been reading these forums since I started my CH 13 bankruptcy in 2008 in KY. Never posted. I have learned a great deal reading the posts here.
Quick question...
I made my last payment last week....woohoo! My case was audited and I received my letter of completion yesterday. It was pretty emotional opening the letter...however a little bittersweet as I will have to start making regular student loan payments soon. The CH 13 made me feel protected and I'm a little nervous about being out. Maybe slightly comparable to being in jail for 5 years and being released to the real world.
My question:
My car is on it's last legs. Is my letter of completion enough to get an auto loan or should I wait for my discharge? My wife has stated she will cosign if it will help my approval and rates. Also, will doing this have an effect on my discharge?
Congrats on completing! I don't know the answer to most of your questions because I filed a Ch7. I think with a 13 you have a better chance of being approved for a car right now. Your wife co-signing should help your interest rate. Good luck!
