Hello,
I'm currently disputing items on my credit report. My equifax has my middle initial as P, however it's A. Is that proper cause to dispute items on my credit report?
Yes - you can.
But once you do this, don't be suprised if you have to send in a copy of your SSN Card, DL and some other supporting documentation.

Proper cause to dispute the name, yes.. Dispute valid TL's, no..
I just went through this, my name was misspelled several ways on all 3 reports and I had to send them a copy of my DL, SS card and a recent utility bill with my address. I included a letter to have all other incorrect variations of the spelling of my name to be removed and they fixed it. Apparently, from what the person at TU told me, CA's are the one's who input the incorrect spellings when they reported my collections. I had like 7 variations with different middle initials, my last name that has a hyphen was separated and the first 2 letters had become my middle name and on 2 of the reports, my husband's name was listed as one of my names. It was ridiculous and caused a bunch of issues on TU with my husband's tradeline reporting to my CR as mine, instead of his. A big mess, but finally fixed.
