Newly discharged and have some questions

Some people stay under the radar...I had to verify and it was a pain mainly because I live 2 to 3 hours away. Don't sponsor anyone, and don't open new credit accounts too often. Maybe they wont look any further. Personally I think veterans should be eligible, but it is what it is.

So, I also joined NFCU.... The lady there called me today. I told her about our situation and although it's not ideal, I'm really considering the secured card. It's a little larger of a deposit ($500) but reports to all 3 CRA's and you get your deposit back at the end of 12 mos plus any interest. Then you can switch to unsecured. We have been approved for capital 1 platinum and QS.

Do it! Mine unsecured at 12 months, and quickly got up to 25K. With that 25K limit reporting, i was able to get hefty credit limits on other cards. It really was the key to my rebuilding post-BK.
