I filed for bankruptcy 1/9/14, had the first meeting 2/18/14 and me reaffirmation hearing was today. For some reason I thought that I had already been discharged. I applied for a Capital One Quicksilver a few days ago and was approved for $500 limit. I am assuming the limit was so low because I havent been discharged yet. The judge said now that we have had the reaffirmation hearing I will be discharged quickly.
Limit is so low because you have a BK on file - not because you have not been discharged.
I am suprised that Cap One approved you without a discharge - but, treat that card well and it will be your best friend.
Thanks. I am enrolled in Credit Steps so I wont have the baby limit forever.

You'll get a $250 increase (half your current credit limit) to $750 in 6 months.

I've never heard of it being anything but half your limit... a one time credit limit increase after 6 months.
My $1000 card went to $1500 after 6 months... and my $500 card went to $750 after 6 months so I'd have to agree with what I've read previously.
My cap1 went from $1,000 to $2,000 as well. I never used the thing either. Just a couple small purchases here and there.
