A 7 does not require permission once you file. Any new credit obtained after filing cannot be included in your petition and therefor not allowed to be discharged.

Oh ok... now it makes sense.  Thanks for clearing it up.

I financed with prestige two weeks after filing, it's perfectly legal depending on jurisdiction.

Re: Prestige Financial

So have you had a good experience with them? I am concerned about getting a loan through them with all the harassment I am reading.

Re: Prestige Financial

I never got a single phone call from them except they call right after the loan is done to verify your contact info.  I would say never be late and you'll never hear a word from them.

Re: Prestige Financial

How long have you had your loan with them? And do you get the multiple calls before the payment is due?

Re: Prestige Financial

No one ever called me at all, no robots either.  I set up automatic payments from their website, which is really nice because you can split up your payment to every two weeks if you would like or set up your own payment date.

I no longer have the loan with them.  I refinanced with my credit union to get half the interest rate.

Re: Prestige Financial

Our van has been financed with them since October, not one phone call "reminding" me of payments due.  I make my payments on-time, every six months they reduce the interest rate .25% (they do .50% if you also have auto pay).  The only complaint I have is every six months I have to send them a copy of my insurance declarations page to show I really have full coverage insurance.  It's not a huge deal, my agent e-mails it to me and I e-mail it to them, but it isn't necessary.  In nearly 20 years of financing vehicles I've never had to do that before (insurance card maybe, but not the actual coverage page).

NFCU Rewards - $18,000, NFCU Signature - $18,000, NFCU LOC - $15,000, Care Credit - $7,700, Lowe's - $6,400, Capital One QS - $5,000, Walmart - $5,000, Amazon - $4,000

Re: Prestige Financial

How did buying a car 2 weeks after filing Chapt 7 effect your credit score? Did it increase at all? Also how many choices of dealerships did you get to choose from? We go to our 341 meeting on monday and since my car was totaled may 1st in a wreck im now without a car except for my hubby's small truck which only seats 2 ppl so we are thinking about getting a car before our discharge but I wanted to make sure 1st. I don't want nor can afford a huge car pmt, If they can keep it to like $300 a month then I can work with that until we can refi. Suggestions would be great.

Oh and here's another question, what does it mean being in the Garden? I see this alot in posts but don't get it.

Also, how do you know when you are pre-qualified to apply for a cc on this site?

Thanks
