Following Scupra's lead (after I decided I didn't really want the house I was thinking about buying) I applied for the CSP about a month ago to take advantage of the sweet bonus.
App = 7-10 day waiting message
Called 888-245-0625 a few hours later for the recon (after verifying with Scupra what # he used) - Explained BK in about 2 seconds and was told she was forwarding with recommendation for approval.
Week goes by.... nothing....
Another week went by and I called them on the recon line again. They said they could see that I was recommended for approval, but that were slammed and recons were taking 2-3 weeks. $5K limit (tying my lowest limit card, which happens to be a Freedom)
A couple days later, about 17 days after I applied, it showed up in my Chase online account. Took another week or so to actually get to me.
731 FICO from their letter /pull.
Annoyingly slow, but I'm not going to complain because I still get the 55K UR points.
Cheers, all!

Boooooom! Glad you got approved. I think with the new hours and the new Freedom Unlimited recon is getting slower. My two Chase cards are my lowest as well, but I am not complaining either Congrats SM!
Congratulations SM.....The CSP card has become my no 1 card
Scupra, I have a question for you. I have been out of bk going on five years and have a load of store cards. I opened them restart my history and have do well but I don't want them anymore. I want to start trying for the better cards. I have the Discover/Quicksilver but I would like the Freedom. My question is should I start closing all of those cards so that when I recon I can look better to the creditor or just leave them and let them die? I tried for the Freedom and Amazon Visa but was turned down because of the store cards.
I thought I would post a link to a thread about the OP's coversation with someone at Amex about their declined application due to BK. Amex told him they use a Risk Model and the conversation was around how a BK or CO plays into the model. Very insightful. I think other lenders use a similar type model as well.

When you called to recon did they specifically point out the store cards as a reason for denial? If yes, and Chase is a goal of yours then I would definitely close them, wait around 6-12 months and give it another go. At that time you have the ammo you need to put yourself in the best situation for an approval. You can tell them that you really want in with a big name bank like Chase because of their amazing reputation and that last time you applied you were told the store cards were hurting your odds. Tell them things like, "now you can see I have closed the useless accounts and let my other accounts age for 6-12 months before trying again".
Be respectful but at the same time stern. Remember that these reps taking recon calls hear it ALL day. Get to the point quick, make sure you sound knowledgeable about your reports and get the elephant in the room out of the way asap. When I call I say, "I just applied online and was turned down for my BK and wanted to request a reconsideration". Sometimes you get the third degree and others will just chit chat with you for a bit. Good luck and keep us updated!
Thank you, Scupra, and I will.
I just scored a Chase FU after recon 4 years and 2 mos after burning them for $3k. This was my second attempt. Two months after I'm discharged next year, I will apply for the Amex ED. Thanks to everyone in this thread for sharing your knowledge. It's because of you that has courage to risk another hp now. I'm off the the garden for the rest of the year.
