Reporting as late after bankruptcy..Is this even legal?

I haven't been here for a awhile but thought this was the best place to ask.

I filed chap 7 bankruptcy in 2013 at the time I only had 1 credit card Cap 1, never late.

On my report it showed as never late included in bankruptcy.....that was until April 17

Now it is showing as a 30 day late for April 17 only on my Experian report

I called Experian today and the young lady advised me she could not access my file as it was being handled by a different office and a supervisor would be calling me back.

My question is...Can a company do that Report you as late today when you haven't had a payment due for 4.5years?

Aren't bankruptcy laws pretty strict?

No, a company cannot report any lates after discharge. Sounds like a reporting error on Capital One's end. I would call Cap One and speak to them about it. Only late payments before filing can be reported. Yes, bankruptcy laws are very strict! :-)
