Is there any reason it would be a bad idea to apply for a credit card before discharge? I filed 4/30 and have been to the 341 meeting, just awaiting discharge but would like to try and get the ball rolling on my rebuild with a CC if I can, Any advice? Thanks

Many. Wait for your discharge, make sure all of your reports are accurate (dispute if needed and wait for them to be accurate) THEN apply.
Yes, it is bad. 1) If the trustee finds out he could dismiss your case in the worst case scenario, and 2) you will likely not be approved and then you will have another inquiry on your account for no reason. Just be patient and soon you can begin to rebuild.
Agree with all of the above.
Wait till you have discharge in hand.
The trustee isn't your friend.
I would definitely wait till discharge. I made the mistake of applying and fortunately I was approved, but it could have cost me a lot if my case had been dismissed because of my itchy fingers to rebuild. I literally sweat bullets until I got my discharge on 6/23/15, trust me you don't want that stress.
Search this forum and you'll see this is a common question ... and many of the same responses you see here. The most common response from posters here is no ... do not apply for credit while in bankruptcy process. Some ignore the advice.
