When I worked at PenFed, the feedback I got from active military members was that the negative credit reporting would prevent them from getting clerance, but that was if you were past due. A BK didn't seem to hold anyone up. We actually were told to use the military clerance as a talk off to help encourage the active military member's to pay before it hit 30 days, or we sent it for repo/foreclosure.
