Hello, this is my second time around on this site since 2007.A lot of things happened. I was happy to work on my credit a few years back going from a 350 to 650 score.
In 2007 the business l've worked for was sold and I was unemployed for a year. Now three years later, I have a good job but filed BK in 2014 because I could not keep up with the bills. Since then I was approved for the following...remember my BK was discharged 8/2014.
Capital one $500 10/2014
Capital one $300 10/2014 $400 2/2015 $750 3/2015
Capital one Auto loan $16,000 APR 11%
Avant Personal Loan $2100 37% APR **
Von Maur $300 11/2014
**Got the avant loan to have a mixed of credit. First time ever purchasing a car period...I'm in my mid 40s and I'm feeling pretty good right now.
I don't recommend getting Avant only if you can pay if off quicker , but they do report.
My scores as of today....EQ 600, Trans 579 EX 600....pre BK was 470
My car loan, Cap One increase and Avant loan are not showing yet....will pull my scores again in a few months.
There is light at the end of the rainbow.
Keep working at it. It just takes time, patience and committment to see good results.
Glad your rebuild is doing great like the previous poster said Patience is key
Went to kohls this past weekend....wanted to spend 200 in cash....
older cashier lady gave me 10% off and said that I could get 20% off if I apply for a card.
just wanted to help the lady to give her some credit since she was so nice..
boom...they approved me...$300 limit..wasn't expecting this at all.
quite surprised....total spent $86...went home...logged online and paid the balance off.
but I'll keep the card
Great work so far!!
Be careful witht he khols card, if you have any balance on there awhat so ever since it has a 300 dollar limit your score will drop if you carry a balance.
The 37% personal loan for a mix of credit was definitely a mistake considering you already have an installment car loan.
Other than that, looks good for the rebuild stages.
So I should pay the balance off before the statement hits??????
I thought about that...well i plan to pay it off ASAP....already paid two car notes before the due date....Got another CLI with my second Cap 1 this morning...after 6th statement..of $500...CL now is $1,100
