Tax returns

I am paying of my lawyer on Wed June 4 so he can file bankruptcy papers and I'm  "excited". I initially saw consultation last August (2013 ) but really made an effort to oat off things on my own. I'm sensing relief and am grateful for all of your posts that I use for encourageme t/ motivation,. My question is that I've heard they will keep my tax returns the year I file. True? Just curious. Thanks

By tax returns you must mean tax refunds right?

The answer is ... it depends. If you receive a refund, the trustee will know and will decide if you get to keep it or not. I had received funds from the banks settelment with attorneys genral over mortgage stuff. While I had to disclose it to the trustee, he did not claim it.
