I just want to thank all the contributors, posters of this forum... You guys are the best... My BK is finally discharged (just checked pacer, a site i wouldnt even have know of if it wasnt for the forum) i honestly read every post and replies. The wealth of information here is invalueable...thank you guys....now the real work begins.

congrats - I know the feeling and hopefully that stress and weight has been lifted.  Take your time, go slowly and do things methodically and you'll be fine.  go get that secured card from your local credit union now and start cleaning up reports in the next couple of months....build that foundation.

My reports are as "clean" as they are gonna get, i started the process around the time of my 341, my TU and EX are cleaned. My equifax im having a slight issue with portfolio/hsbc double enrty i keep disputing hopefullynthis time 1 will be deleted, and capital bank which was public savings bank keeps reporting charge off. On my schedule its listed as Public Savings bank not capital..I faxed the BK discharge, my list of creditors, the credit report my lawyer pulled, and the FDIC press release stating that public savings was bought out by capital bank maybe this time it will get it to report correctly. My question for today is: Can i start to rebuild? Or do i have to wait until equifax updates? The other 2 CB have updated.. Id like to apply for the credit builder loan and secured card...any thoughts?

Yes, Christine you can the rebuilding process today if you like. As long as you have your discharge paperwork including the schedule of all the accounts iib, the loan offer will be able to help you.

While I was waiting to have my bankruptcy discharged, I joined a local credit union that offers credit rebulder loans and secured credit cards. My lawyer actually reccommended them to me. The day my Chapter 7 bankruptcy was discharged, I picked up the paperwork and went straight to the credit union. I opened a secured Visa and a secured a loan. The loan officer made a copy of my paperwork and matched every line on the schedule to my credit report. Luckily for me, one a few accounts didn't report correctly.  The credit union didn't give me a single problem and a great to work with.  As a matter of fact, I have move everything to them.

Congrats on the discharge.  Now, you can begin the work of rebulding; it will take time but with dedicated efforts you can rebound well. Good luck!

Thank you, i am 2months post dc. i have begun to rebuild by following SM guide and my scores have went up 631tu, 601eq 578ex. Thanks again SM, guy@beach and scholls and the host of others on this forum
