I would contact your attorney about this. You are right, they legally cannot collect, nor do you want this on your credit report. Not sure that this is what jumped your score up, but you definately don't want this showing.

So I was discharged last week and I just got a notice of a new collection account fromtri state collections for a $4000 medical bill that was included in bankruptcy on October10th. I know that I can get it removed or they can get in serious trouble for violating the discharge order but here's the kicker. .... because of the new collection account myequifax score went UP 15 points. ..... any ideas?
I think the alert for a new account just happened to have a score increase at the same time. Not that the collection account is what raised your score, just came at the same time. Definitely get that off your reports asap. I would call the collection company first and let them no you have filed for BK7 and they are violating your BK and to remove it asap or you will sue them. Good luck!
