My Chapter 13 is done on 2/26 that should be "my last payment" the NDC said that currently on hand I had $5200. The only account left to pay is my car with a balance of $4200 (because the trustee literally forgot to pay it for a few years, so there is a balance). She pays my bills every 15th. Two payments ago she paid them a big payment. Last month she paid the normal $555, this month she paid $555 again!!! WHY DIDN'T she pay it off!!! Technically she doesn't make another payment next month because it's over 2/26.... I'm so done with this $hit being dragged out!! I pay $2650 a month and I want to be done!! It's been 5 long years. Grrrrrrrrr. Thanks for listening.
I feel your pain! I have another 10 months to be finished with my 5 years. On top of everything, my daughter graduates high school this May and i am trying to help her go to an out of state school. Tell me, since this is your last month, do you still need to send the trustees your tax refund? Did you receive a letter in December or January telling you to send them a copy of your taxes? I really need to keep my refund for next year to help my daughter. Congratulations on finishing 5 LONG YEARS!! From what i understand, most people dont make it!!!!
I am also in Chapter 13 bankruptcy. My 5 year plan will be complete in 02/2016. Although it has been one of the the worst experiences in my life, I am anticipating the day when all of this will be behind me. Then I will be able to enjoy the things that I used to, but with more discernment.
I have not used or applied for any type of credit during my plan. It has been tough though...
Many things can happen in a 5 year time period;
the bottom of my car rusted out. I have to take 2 buses to work.
I'm in need of extensive home repairs. Plumbing, roof, etc.
Medical bills are pouring in.
I chose a pitiful lawyer.
I have limited funds because my wages are garnished.
Before anybody decides to file for bankruptcy, just remember that 3-5 years is a long time and unforeseen events can happen. Also, make sure you get a good Lawyer that will help you through the complete process.

That's the guy I went with back in 2009 when I was a GA resident. I moved west for a new job 2 years after filing and continued to mail payments to the GA trustee while a WA resident.
6-9 months till everything falls off with early exclusion.
Don't worry OP it gets better.
My 13 was discharged last month. I was also on the 5 year plan. It's a long 5 years. I'm still looking at at least a couple of years of rebuilding before lenders won't just laugh when I try applying for credit.
But, I've bee able to move my scores from below 500 to around 650 in the last 6 weeks or so. It can be done but you'll just have to realize that discharge is just another phase of what already has been a crappy last 5 years.

My discharge was this month how did you start rebuilding credit?
I started with Capital One... I got a $1000 card in May 2013 and gradually expanded from there. I got a 2nd card a few months later.
You can mouseover the cards in my signature for the dates that I opened each account. Big thing to remember is it's not a race... rebuilding is a marathon.
