So I am finally seeing the bumps in my credit score and I am a happy girl today. I decided to apply for a NFCU CLOC. I didn't want to go too nuts so I app'd for $5K....just waiting for the decision to come through.....
I'd be highly surprised if you get the LOC. We were discharged Jan 2015 and I just got approved for it last week. That being said, when you apply again ask for the full $15K, they will counter offer a lower amount if they don't give you the entire thing. I got it all.
I would suggest in about six months trying to increase the CL on your NFCU card, wait till about six months though. If you get a CLI instantly there is a good chance you will get approved for the LOC at that time.
I had a $500 CL NFCU Cash Rewards card, got it in February and have been trying to get the CLI since. About two weeks ago I tried for the CLI again (through the online account access) and asked for $1000, instantly approved. Tried for $2,000, then $5,000, then $10,000, then $20,000. All were instantly approved except the $20K increase, they counter offered $18,000. So, if you get the instant approval keep trying for more until you either get a counter offer (which you accept) or you get the "we'll let you know in 3-5 days" message.
Also, I applied for the Signature Rewards Visa in August or September and got a $5,000 CLI there. Of course everyone's rebuild is different and I have several other major credit cards in that time, but nothing over $1300 reporting when the $5,000 and $18,000 were approved (or the LOC for that matter).
Yeah, I'm not sure what my actual chances of getting approved are but I figured I'd give it a shot. If I don't get it, I'll try again in 6 months or so.
Hi - How do you request a CLOC increase? Via phone or with a live person?

I discharged 9/29. How long before Cap 1 started reporting? And was the bump significant?
I applied for Firestone but was denied. Figured I'd try again after my cards are added and I get my tax lien removed. The tax lien is holding me down big time!

Ok so....declined. Ah well. Had a feeling. As far as cap 1, it took about a month and half. I'm still waiting for the 2nd one to report. Yeah, I would wait to re-apply when your stuff shows up and your scores go up. I think that's the only reason I was approved. I'm now in the garden for the next 6 months except for maybe a CLI w/my Cap One cards.
