I am about 1year post bk d/c, when I was discharged last year my first card was capital one platinum at that time i received a instant approval for a 300 credit line and enrolled in the credit steps program. i think charged and made 5 payments and received a auto cli to 500. well on my 11th or 12th statement they gave me an additional 1000 that brings my total cli to 1500.00 in one year. thanks capital one!!

Excellent, keep up the good work
Credit steps is a one time CLI program offered by Capital One... 5-6 months of on time payments will get you the increase... typically 1/2 of your original CLI but YMMV.
Mine went from $1000 to $1500 and $500 to $750 at 6 months. It's a one time increase... any further increases are at their discretion and it's like pulling teeth.
I had to Facebook message them and talk to the EO just to get a increase after being denied for "not enough card usage." I requested $1500 CLI to $3000... they gave me $500 to $2000.
Most likely what I'll end up doing is closing both my CapOne accounts when they reach 2 years of age for optimal FICO scoring. The $1500 CLI I just got from BECU pretty much makes up for utilization lost if I were to close the accounts.
CUs are the best and the CapOne cards are already my worst cards and they probably won't get much better. CapOne is a rebuild lender... By the time both accounts are 2 years old my BR will have fallen off my report and I'll be with better lenders than I am now.
Are you automatically enrolled in the credit steps program ....

Yes, you will get literature about it as well.
