In looking at my TU report following some disputes, I noted there are seven bad accounts dropping off this year (that were included in the BK7 with the divorce). This might be a really stupid question but...
Will this improve my credit score by much at all? I'm so new to the whole "rebuilding credit" scene, though I used these boards heavily when the soon-to-be-ex's first wife stole his identity to run up a huge amount of credit. It took me about three years, but I finally got it all removed and transferred over to her via the OCs.
Am i being naive to think this is anything but good? It doesn't appear it will affect my AAoA, since I still have some older accounts on there that are showing, even though they were closed years ago (car loans, mostly). Truthfully, according to this site, my AAoA is 19 years, which is supposed to be good.
I see. But, yeah, it appears this will help my score. I couldn't believe there were so many! In looking more closely at them, they were accounts the STBE (soon-to-be-ex) had in his name only (that were included in his last BK7 from several years ago) and somehow they landed on my credit report, probably because of our being conjoined credit-wise with the house and a couple of car loans.
I guess I could dispute them but they're dropping off so soon, some over the next three months, it almost doesn't seem worth the effort. I know some on here will say to do it but with the divorce, moving, etc., I just don't have the energy right now to do much else. Were I able to dispute them online (I can't right now because I just finished up a TU dispute and for some reason I can't do another online) I'd go ahead.
