want to have a NFCU but getting divorced from service member

Im going through a divorce with a service member and I will be filing BK after the divorce. I know NFCU is very good and I would REALLY like to have them after the BK.  Do you think I could apply now, whil still married, and get in..but then Im not sure if they would shut me down after the BK.  Or do I wait until after the divorce, but then I dont know if I technically qualify.

Thoughts?

Obtain membership and open a savings account now.  Don't incur any debt.  As long as you don't cause them a loss you should be OK.

+1 just join now. You don't even need to do anything more than the $5 savings for your member share. Definitely join now, you will be so glad you did! They are so much better at helping people to rebuild.

+1 to what everybody said.  You need to push the submit button on the membership now while STILL married.
