Amex Simply Cash Plus - Convert Cashback into cash.

So this amex card automaticly applies your cashback rewards to your statement, there is no other option through Amex.

Does anyone know of an alternative way of getting the rewards out? In another words, convert the rewards into cash somehow.

I was thinking purchasing something of similar rewards value, waiting for the rewards to be credited on the account and then returning the item for cash. Do you guys think that would work?

Here is an idea, withdraw the same amount from the payment account attached to the card.

Here’s an idea. Build up a rewards amount. Buy groceries per normal, including bacon.

Let the AMEX cash reward post to your statement, reducing the amount you have to pay.

AMEX stepped in front of you to pay part of your statement balance. Your bacon dollars remain in your checking account. Turn around three times, then use your debit card to take the amount of cash AMEX gave you out of your own bank account. Enjoy your bacon dollars.

Mmmm... bacon

Re: Amex Simply Cash Plus - Convert Cashback into cash.

This sounds way too complicated here. Why not just pay more on a expense before statement cut date?

Also wouldn't Amex issue a check if your rewards made your balance negative???
