The upper exposure limit varies from issuer to issuer. Some issuers have a hard $25k limit, whereas others may allow more based on proof of income. Issuers also tend to have an overall exposure limit across any of their cards.
If you need a large one-time-purchase limit, a charge card with "no pre-set spending limit" might be the way to go, but even those take time to "learn" your spending habits.
