Hey Alll,
I just figured I would share my recent surprise.
I've had the card since July 2014 and was carrying a balance of 3500-4500 for the whole time.
The past 6 months, I've been making a concerted effort to pay it down to zero (taking longer than
I would like) so I can request a CLI. I logged on today to see the new CL.
Very content.
Does anyone know how often these auto CLIs occur? (assuming good usage and payment of course)
Is there a certain amount of time I should now wait before I request a CLI if I don't get an auto?
Cheers,
H.
There's no way to predict auto CLIs with Chase. It really depends on your spending and payment patterns, in addition to the as usual credit profile and income. I'd wait 6 months as a guess.
In my experience, after carrying a large balance for a while then paying it off, the banks seem eager to approve CLIs, either automatic or requested. It may be a technique to bait the credit card holder into carrying a balance again to make money off of interest. Either way, congrats on the CLI.
I never figured out Chase CLIs. I've seen very few of them over the years. It used to be that I'd just apply for another card from an issuer as a way of getting the CLI. With the new 5/24 in effect, it's harder to just get a new card with Chase.
Good job and enjoy it.
It's really hard to say. I opened my Ink cash May 2016 SL $5k 12 months 0% APR .
August 2016 they auto cli me to $9k the same day I was approved for CSR @ $28.5k.
U was carrying a $700 balance at the time of auto luv .
My freedom had $0 balance at the time also.
